Year of the Horse, A Lunar New Year Tradition

Every year since starting my business in 2022, I’ve created a new illustration to celebrate the Lunar New Year. What began as a personal challenge slowly turned into a tradition I deeply cherish. Each zodiac animal marks a chapter of growth, progress, and creative evolution.
For the Year of the Horse, I continued my practice of creating two interpretations of the zodiac. One as the animal itself, and one as a human-animal figure. The animal form always comes first. It’s about honoring the spirit of the zodiac in its purest, most symbolic form. Movement, power, and instinct take the lead.
The second piece reimagines that same energy through a human lens. Clothing, posture, and expression allow the symbolism to shift into something quieter and more reflective. Strength becomes patience. Momentum becomes intention.
The Horse represents endurance, independence, and the drive to keep going, even when the path isn’t perfectly clear. That symbolism feels especially meaningful this year. These pieces act as a visual milestone for me, a way to look back on where I started and forward to where I’m headed next.
As this collection continues to grow, so does my appreciation for the time, care, and community that make it possible. Thank you for being part of this journey and celebrating another Lunar New Year with me.
